Yup. If I'm going to sell my soul to the corporate conglomerate, I may as well have fun doing it. (It also inflates my ego - thinking I have so many friends.) In it's defense, it is a great way to keep in contact with people. (If you want to be a friend - It's look me up.)

i'll admit it, this is one of the best things apple has done for the edcuational community at large, and one of the neatest things for those of us who aren't in school or who can't afford all that expensive stuff associated with it. (A particular favorite and heavily biased school is Concordia Seminary)
